WP: How long have you practiced Pilates?

I started practicing Pilates a little over a year ago, and last week I had my 100th session at Westwood Pilates!

WP: Tell us a little bit about your athletic background and how you found Pilates.

A couple of years ago I got back into regular exercise after years in dental school and residency. I've found that dance fitness classes are a form of cardio I've been able to stick with but I was looking for some strength training. I had heard that Pilates can help build strength and keep muscle groups balanced, which I felt would be beneficial since my work as a dentist can be pretty tough physically.

WP: Why do you choose to do your workouts at Westwood Pilates?

Westwood Pilates is walking distance from where I live, which led me to try the studio. The instructors are amazing and I love catching up with Tanya when I see her twice a week!

WP: What is your most challenging exercise and why?

Teaser is my most challenging exercise because most days my legs just feel so dang heavy. But I have finally noticed improvement with it!

WP: Which Pilates equipment do you like working with best (Cadillac, Reformer, Wunda Chair, Barrel, Mat)? Why?

I like the Cadillac because I can get good connections working with it. Reformer exercises have been slower to make sense to me, but it's exciting when pieces fall into place in my mind/body connection!
